Mother Bear Project

Dr. Gemma from the Cogknitive Podcast mentioned the Mother Bear Project.

The Mother Bear Project is dedicated to providing comfort and hope to children affected by HIV/AIDS in emerging nations, by giving them a gift of love in the form of a hand-knit or crocheted bear. The simple gift of a hand-knit bear with a tag signed by the knitter has touched children with the message that they are unconditionally loved.

After checking out the website and looking at all the photos, I knew I wanted to make one of these these bears. To put a smile on a child's face with something that I enjoy doing is worth my time.

Bunny was my first and she is made out of I Love this Cotton!

Bonita and Benito are made out of Red Heart Kids and Paton. I redid Bonita's face to make it a little softer. I am using a Knit in the Round Mother Bear Project Pattern from Katmcab. With all the red dishcloths I've been making this month, I put together this little Valentine basket for my mom. The Dollar Store had the little heart-shaped baskets added the dish soap, cookies, kisses and a rose. I think she really liked it.

Sassy is a Star

We were looking at getting Sassy spayed at our Vet Clinic. A guy in my office wife works at the Humane Society and she assured me that it is done by a great vet and that she does the same procedure that she would at the clinic. The clinic would have costs between $250-300 while the shelter only charges $73 and that includes micro chipping.

I dropped her off early yesterday morning at the shelter. Last night a friend called and told me that Sassy was on our local news (news video). When I picked her up this morning she was all excited and looked great. I told the lady there that I saw Sassy on the news and she said she was wondering what that email was about wondering if the Westie was still available.

I took off work today so that I could watch her. Sassy is doing great and hasn't messed with her stitches at all. We are glad that she is home....the house seemed empty last night without her. Sassy is our little star.

Doily Books

A few years back I tried my hand at a few doilies and completed a couple small ones. I bought several doily books tried a more complicated one and it sits waiting to be finished.

When I frequented Crochetville I fell in love with Kathryn A. White's doily patterns. Then a couple weeks ago I heard her on Get Loopy (yes, yet another podcast that I listen too). Kathryn is very talented and you can check out her wonderful designs at Crochet n Beads. Anyway, Mary Beth Temple (Get Loopy) has weekly contest and I won three beautiful doily books by Kathryn A. White--A Cavalcade of Doilies, Irish Beaty Doilies, Doily Threesomes.

I have a tin tub full of crochet thread that I had to dig out of my craft closet...maybe if I display it in full view, I'll actually try doilies again.

I'd like to thank Kathryn A. White and Mary Beth Temple for the exquisite doily books.

Angel Sassy

Isn't Sassy just a little angel??!?!

Actually it is just Daisy behind her.

Here is Daisy trying to teach Sassy some manners.

Now if she would just teach her to go potty outside. We made the mistake of using a potty pad because it was so blasted cold outside when we first got Sassy (12/12/08). Well, the vet said potty pads are a no-no. Plus my husband is getting tired of cleaning up messes everyday when he goes home at lunch. Sassy has a pen (probably 4x6 in the kitchen) with a crate in it. And she always seems to track her messes all over the pen!!!

We have decided to try to get Sassy to go outside. Daisy has a doggie door that goes off the screened-in deck and Sassy knows how get go in and out of it but she just doesn't go potty outside. We've even tried moving the potty pad to the deck and she did go on it a few times over the weekend but last night nada. She waits until we go inside then goes on the pad.

Now our attempts will be to use the smaller crate and take her out every half hour until she actually goes outside. Next will be to get her to ring the bell like Daisy does. Oh, the joys of a new puppy in the winter!!

Starting 2009 Organized

I went through my craft room and got things organized. I sorted out my dishcloth yarn...there is a huge basket of partials balls and another of new ones. I have several skeins leftover from a finished afghan...maybe I'll make some scarves. The two rolling carts are full of misc yarns. We won't even talk about all the Red Heart my parents got from the garage sale. I really need to finish their Log Cabin Blanket.

Plus there is the lonely basket of sock yarn....I really love all the beautiful colors but I'm going to take a break from socks for awhile. The Window Panes are still in my sock bag and I plan to finish them sometime.

There are a few more things that I need to frog...already wound up a few things.

I organized all my patterns that seem to accumulate on my desk...put them in the appropriate binders.

Starbuck Knitted Coffee Mugs

Have you bought your knitted coffee mug from Starbucks?
On Saturday, I walked in and a workers said "Oh, it matches your purse!" Needlesstosay I bought one for home and one for the office.
I was really impressed since I generally frequent other coffee shops. I sat and knitted on my December socks for a while then went to my LYS to show the mug to the owner. She was going to send her husband to get one. She told me that they had yarn decorations so I had to go back this morning to check them out. Plus, I got a hot chocolate and danish and knitted on my socks again...I'm determined to get these finished.

Bella's Mittens & Beanie

I finished Bella's Mittens and a somewhat matching ear flap beanie. I modified the Ear-Warming Cables Beanie pattern from the Knit a Dozen Beanies. When I wrapped her gift I put a picture of Bella wearing them in the movie in the box. She really liked Jacob's hat so maybe I'll make that after the holidays.

New Puppy

My 13 yo daughter, Ally, got an early Christmas present...a 9 1/2 week old West Highland White Terrier (Westie)...her name is Sassy. We are already have a 3 yo Westie, Daisy and she is my puppy. They are getting along great and Daisy is very patient with her but still puts Sassy in her place. Since it is so cold outside 9 with windchill of -9, we decided to use potty pads. Sassy is only about 4 lbs and gets a chill quick. She has been using the pads regularly but still has her accidents too. She is a sweet but sassy little pup. Needlesstosay Ally is extremely happy with her present and has been a very good mommy to her.

Oak Yarn Swift

I asked hubby if he would make me a swift. Of course, he didn't know what it was so I showed him this and printed off the directions. The next day I hear him in his shop cutting and sanding, he makes a trip to Home Depot, I could smell the stain and then a couple days later he brings up my Oak Yarn Swift. He made it with stuff he already had and said it cost only $2.00 to make!!! I am so proud of my new swift and my talented husband. I just wish (and so does my daughter) that I would have had him make it a few years ago.

This pattern is so addicting. I really had fun knitting up this little baseball sweater for my future nephew. There are a few little changes that I would make next time and I actually made notes. This used 2 full skeins of the red and small amounts of navy and white. Now I have to find a Cardinals patch to sew on or something. I'm going to knit these Baby Converse and a baseball cap but I haven't found a pattern yet.

After watching the EZ Baby Surprise Jacket DVD, this one was soooo much easier to make. There are many helpful tips and suggestions. This is a must have if you plan on making many of these adorably easy BSJ. I still need to make a hat and socks/booties.

Did I mention that my SIL is having a boy?!? But I do have a neighbor that is having a girl in Oct. I just need to decide which colors to use for a boy. Do I go with St. Louis Cardinals colors and try to find a Cardinal patch or do I use stash yarn? I think I'll go look at Ravelry and then decide.

Not for Yarn Snobs

I have been doing some charity knitting lately and you know that requires acrylic. Well, my parents are avid garage salers and since that is what gets sold, last week I asked them to buy yarn and knitting/crocheting stuff. My mom called Sat morning and said they found some. DD and I were out for breakfast so I told her we'd be over after that. We walked in and there are boxes and still in bags of yarn and patterns....

ok its Red Heart but 62 Classic and 6 big Super Savers. There were Herrschners patterns in the bags with it--one is Colorama Afghan and the other is Flowers and Diamonds Afghan. Plus there were other magazines.

Oh, the best part is that they paid............$5. Yup, thats all! They said there were lots of books so I went back and bought some Leasure Arts and American School of Needlework and magazines and misc. patterns for $2.

I told my mom that I'd make her an afghan. I will probably try to find her one out of one of the many books. I think it will be cool to make the Colorama Afghan (can't believe Ravelry doesn's have these) but I'm not so sure about the granny squares for the other one that came as a kit.

Granted it is just Red Heart but I was so excited!!!

Smokey Mountain Spinnery

Last week while on vacation in Gatlinburg, TN this is the yarn store in the Smokey Mountains that my daughter and I visited. The owner was so nice and I could have looked around all day and not looked at all her wonderful yarns. I had to limit myself to these yummy yarns....
these are all yarns that I haven't come across before. Panda Silk is the pink, Schaffer Yarns Anne is the pink/orange, Maizy made from corn fibers is the off-white and then there is the purple/greens from Jojoland Melody. I can't wait to knit all these up!

This is the nicest sock yarn that I've ever used. It was a dream to knit with and I love the colors. I bought this at Ewe and Me in Sandwich, Illinois on my yarn crawl in the spring. Don't these socks look like rainbows instead of a rainforest? The pattern was lots of fun to knit and I think its cool how the ribbing ended up on the heel. I actually knit these cuff down one at a time, and you know that is my least favorite way but I truly did enjoy making these socks. Thanks goes to Sockamania for the pattern!

LOL Ok first I had to figure out that was when I read my comments. Once I caught up on Jenny Girl's blog I knew then what it meant. ; ) I can't let my first tagging go by!

1. What was I doing 10 years ago?

I have to think back to how old my kids were then. Lets see they were 3 and 4, I was a SAHM (that never stayed home). We were always out swimming, at the parks, Burger King playarea was my office, my kids now hate McDonald's because we ate there too much, the library. I truly did have wonderful times with my kids when they were little and I will never regret staying home with them. My husband was/is very supportive and would even clean the house so that we could play more.

2. What were 5 things on my to-do-list today (not in any particular order)?

First: do laundry - started
Second: walk the dog ~Done
Third: go to work- almost done
Fourth: pick out next sock pattern ~ thinking
Fifth: run kids around to swimming, golfing, volunteering - all day

Sock Dilemma

The SKP 2008 sock pattern this month is not one of my favorites to knit so I have decided to just knit 1-1/2 pattern repeats, do a eye of the partridge heel and stockinette the foot to use it for the SAM5 KAL. Then I will determine if I will frog it or not. I don't know if I've been down on this pattern because of the confusion at the beginning or if its just because I don't like how it looks.

I really don't want to drop out of the SKP2008 but was a little disappointed that the original pattern wasn't test knitted and corrected before it was posted. Since the end of the month is nearing and I'm only finished with 1-1/2 repeats I figured I'd better just throw in the towel for the SKP and modify this pattern so that I can at least get it finished for the SAM5.

So I'm going to follow the advice of Sharon from She-Knits "If you don't love what you're knitting, stop and frog it!"...or something like that.

Firestarter Socks

The Firestarter Socks pattern was a nice fit with the Noro. The heel construction is interesting and I hope it holds up. I didn't cable along the foot because this yarn was kind of a pain to knit with and I wasn't liking how it looked. I struggled making myself work on these because I don't care for green or black...I'm just glad they are on the foot. Once I turned the heel I started to enjoy working on these socks again.

This yarn did soften up after I handwashed the socks. I know that others have been washing the yarn before knitting with it but I had trouble with it tangling while I was winding it into two balls.
There is an extreme variance of thickness in this yarn and is quite noticeable throughout the sock...parts of the heel are very thin. I think this yarn would be better used for a shawl for durability. But they are very beautiful socks, aren't they!?!

I am still working on the Firestarters Socks and almost finished with the heel flap. Noro sock yarn isn't the easiest to work with...broke the yarn twice but I finally see an end in sight. I really want to get these socks done before I start any other projects because I'm afraid I won't finish them for Aprils SAM5. Of course, I still work on different dishcloths too. Do you find yourself just looking for the end? Generally I really enjoy the process of knitting an item and I am to an extend with these socks but not like with others. These socks will be colorful...I do like this part.

I am contemplating either making EZ's Baby Surprise Jacket or Pinwheel Sweater. There are several adorable Pinwheel Sweaters on Ravelry. I'd probably make this for my 1 year old niece or make the Baby Surprise Jacket for my neighbor's grandson who is only a few months old.

I've also joined Stitch-It's Oddball Charity Blanket. I will be the last one to knit on the Midwest "Good Day Sunshine" Blanket so I get to knit then crochet a border if it needs it. I have a stitch pattern in mind but will wait until I see how it will look on the blanket.

There just never seems to be enough time in the day to knit. With the weather getting nicer, I enjoy taking my puppy Daisy for walks plus the kids seem to require more of my time too.

This is yarn that Ally selected during our yarn crawl from Unique Yarns in Rockford, Illinois. They gave us this Vogue Knitting International pattern. I changed the pattern by knitting in the round instead of flat. Casted on 80 stitches and knit for 6 inches then started the decreases. She didn't like the i-cord so we frogged that. She loves its!

This is part of my Amazon order....2-at-a-time Socks, Elizabeth Zimmermann's Knitter's Almanac, and Mason Dixon Knitting.

The 2-at-a-time Socks is a nice spiral bound book and nice pictures but for an experienced sock knitter not worth it. Of course, this is from someone who loves toe-up and I knew there weren't any in this book when I bought it but I wasn't that impressed with the patterns either. I think it would be a nice book for a new sock knitter though.

Elizabeth Zimmermann's Knitter's Almanac, don't hate me but I'm not the biggest Zimmermann fan. My daughter did a oral report on her for a sixth grade project and it was cute because she wore stuff that she had knitted and she could relate to her. Back to the book, it is a nice collection of her patterns (if you call them that). I ordered it because I thought the Baby Surprise Jacket was in it but it isn't.

Mason Dixon Knitting is a great book. I got it because my daughter wants the Psychedelic Square Afghan. There are lots of patterns in here that I will eventually knit someday. I haven't spent much time looking at it and think it will be fun to read through sometime. I wish I would have had the book before my yarn crawl so that I could have looked for the Yahki Yarn.

Each of these shops had its own unique quality. The Fold (our 6th stop) was my favorite...this shop closes at 5 pm. I called them at 4:30 for directions and then we hit the snow. We arrived at 4:55 to a drive with about a foot of snow. My husband and I walked in and the owner was so nice. This shop had every type of spinning wheel and roving (now keep in mind that I don't spin) and I was impressed. DH asked her a hundred questions about her shop...this was the only one he went in...and she was so friendly to him. I quickly walked around the shop, touching everything and the best part was that she had Blue Moon Socks that Rock. I could have spent the whole day there looking around and spending tons of money but I bought one skein of Fairgrounds Socks that Rock and she gave me The Fold tote. My husband was really impressed with this shop and thinks I should try to find a used wheel for my "Craft Room".

I tried to limit myself to one skein of sock yarn at each place...I didn't buy at every place not because I didn't want to but because DH didn't think I needed to.

The last shop we went to was really adorable. It was located in the touristy old downtown part of Gelena. There I found my Fiber Trends Sock Blockers...this was the only place that had any. I looked at every shop for hand-made stitch markers and only one place had any but nothing that I cared for. We ended the yarn crawl Saturday afternoon and headed back home.

Thanks to my husband for putting this together and all the driving and to my kids and dog who put up with all the sitting in the car and for listening to me rant after each shop. This was a wonderful two days of family time. Oh, we did take the kids to the Mall in Rockford to shop.

Egeblad Throw - Pre-blocked

The is the Eceblad Doily Throw before blocking. I love it!!! It was more fun to knit than the Hemlock Ring Blanket. It will probably only block out to 3 1/2 - 4 ft which is perfect for a baby blanket. I think that it would be adorable to make the center flower pink and the rest white or vice versa. If someone would take the time to extend the pattern this would make a beautiful throw. Let me know if you do or find an expended pattern.

Eceblad Doily Throw

I am making the Eceblad Doily into a throw. I bought extra Eco Wool for my Hemlock and had a little over a skein leftover. I only have 5 rows left and I ran out of yarn...will be going to LYS tomorrow.

I enjoyed making this one even more than the Hemlock. It isn't as big but you could expand the pattern.I am going to wind the Noro into 2 balls and plan on casting on the Firestarters.

This yarn really likes to tangle and knot up. It has been wound into 3 balls...minor problems. There is a noticeable difference in thickness but I don't see that as being a problem...I'm more concerned with keeping it untangled. This yarn is has so many different colors...there is even black in there. Can't wait to see how this is going to knit up.

Hemlock Ring blocked

The Hemlock Ring was blocked this weekend. I used a carpet remnant and sheet with my blocking board underneath so that I could use the lines. The blocking isn't the best there is since I didn't pin each and every little looped edge.

The Eco Wool is so soft and warm plus it is beautiful and I love it!

The SKP2008 was launched March 1, 2008 at midnight.

I checked out the Jacobean pattern. Can you believe it is may favorite way to do socks...toe up!?!?! I've tried the magic cast on once so I dug out my New Pathways book and checked on line to refresh myself.

I didn't have the right yarn in my stash so I decided I'd go to LYS when it opened at 9 am, wrong. DH decided we needed to pick out cabinets for our bar/kitchenette area downstairs. I finally made it to the LYS at 10:30. Barbro had already COMPLETED the pair...in only 9 hours...amazing!!!

Now keep in mind that I just joined this group for fun and to try out new techniques. I am only on the second repeat. I really am having fun watching everyone's progress and keep my family (who could probably care less) updated. I get all excited with how many people are completed already. Then my husband bursted my bubble...he said whats to keep two people from doing it together. Now, I can't imagine any knitters doing this, can you?!?

The Hemlock Ring Throw is coming along nicely and is up to Rnd 110 with over 500 stitches...still on the 40". I know it is hard to tell how big it is going to be but I don't want to take it off the needles to check. I plan to to finish at Rnd 121.
Last night I did the heel flap, turned the heel and am on the gusset. I don't know why these are taking forever...could be that I've been working on too many projects.

I want to start on the Carie Lynn bag...I've been picking up the pattern everyday and reading over it. My goal is to finish the socks by the 15th and the Hemlock by the 20th so that I can buy the yarn for the bag next Wednesday.

I was working on the Hemlock Ring blanket during the Super Bowl and am on Rnd 78. This is turning out beautiful and it is fun to work on.

I had to frog the 2nd Pomatomus back to the ribbing but am finally back to where I started.

I bought the Carie Lynn bag pattern and can't wait to start on it. I've read through all the pattern and it looks to have enough variety to be interesting but detailed to be easy to follow. I am thinking of doing the same colors but will have to see what yarn is at my LYS. I'm pretty sure there isn't any Lamb's Pride Bulky. I'm not letting myself start on it until I finished the Hemlock and Pom. I also need to do my Monthly Dishcloth.

Tinking the Hemlock

The Hemlock is coming along...knit 10 rounds tink 5 rounds. Somehow I was off on round 52 didn't realize it until I was on round 57. I've rearranged my markers and this seems to be helping. I really haven't determined if this is lining up or not...but I think it is.

Last week I noticed this Options Total Tote at Walmart for $27...looked through it, put it in my cart, and then put it back. When I was looking at my Knit Picks catalog I noticed this Total Tote. It is the exact same tote!! Guess where I went this morning? Yup, Wally World and now I have my Chocolate Options Tote loaded with three projects (Pomatomus socks, Woodland scarf and the Hemlock Ring) and all my little notions. I really like the purse-like looks because I take my knitting everywhere. Now I can carry this with me and no one will know its my knitting bag until I whip out my needles.

This yarn is wonderful...it is easy to knit with and looks beautiful. I started on this at the K2gether last night and am on Round 29. I put in a lifeline this morning just for security. It took me almost hour to wind these three hanks (478 yards each) at my LYS. She has a nice ball winder and a beautiful stand-up swift that her husband made. I don't think I could have gotten my DD to stand there with her arms up and moving for that long.

Hemlock Ring KAL

Ok, so I've fallen victim to yet another KAL...
the Hemlock Rin g.
I have been coveting this yarn at my LYS for months. Every time I go in I walk by it and fondle it and enjoy the natural colors. Well, I checked out the yarn on Ravelry and came up with this pattern and was throughly impressed. I have crocheted a few doilies (one that needs to be completed) and at one point considered making a blanket out of one the patterns. So this is great and I don't have to worry about doing all the figuring and such.

Then I heard on the Ready, Set, Knit Podcast that they were doing this KAL and then I found the Yahoo Group and there is a group at Ravelry.

I called my LYS and she is holding 3 skeins of the Cascade Ecological Wool #8014. I want to make a pillow cover out of the center star pattern. Maybe I'll even make the doily!! Can you tell I'm excited?!?! If anyone wants to join, please let me know and check out all the links (I use this as my command central for finding links).

Now I can't wait to get off work and go buy my yarn and get this started. Tonight is a Knit Together night so I'll have plenty of experts to help if I need it.

Knit Picks Order

My new Knit Picks order arrived yesterday afternoon....doing the happy dance. I don't know what I like more the jewelry or the needles. The Yarn Ball earrings are so ahhdorable...I am wearing them now. They are lightweight and very comfortable to wear. I think you all would love them too. Haven't had the chance to check out the Knitting Charm Bracelet. I'm not a big bracelet person since they always seem to get in the way at work while I'm typing.

I can't wait to try out my six (all sizes 0-3) new 40" needles. Do I start a new pair or switch over my Pomotomus? I really have to get those finished and I don't even have the first sock done. I really do like doing 2 @ once so much better.

Oops, forgot about the Needle Size ID Tags. I have some different tags for my Addis and thought these would be nice for all my new KnitPicks needles. I have considered getting a set of Options but really don't want to have to worry about the joins. I have some Susan Bates and hate them.

Update...the Needle Size ID Tags only go from 4-15. Can't use them for my new little needles.

These Croc Socks are really fun to work on--now if only I had time...didn't get to last night.

DD12 had her first Jr. High volleyball game. And she played on the A Team and played in all three games. It was really exciting to see how much she has improved. This is our first dealings with being on a team in the public schools and we didn't know what to expect. She was extremely nervous but after a few great spikes and hits, she finally smiled. She is giving up a lot to be on this team during the season--dance, piano, basketball and I have to reschedule tennis matches. She realizes that next year she needs to cut back on a few of her extracurricular activities. Now you see why I knit...I have lots of time while waiting for her.

I carried my knitting bag in with me since I'm the new kid's mom and knitted until someone sat down next to me and we started talking. My knitting gave me a little bit of my own comfort zone and helped me relax.

This is an instant gratification sock!! The pattern is easy to follow and quick to knit. I started these last night while at our Knit Together and have already turned the heel. I'm doing them 2 @ once on 2 circs...I love doing them this way. The N.Y. Yarns GYPSY is soooo soft and cushy. These are gonna be some nice thick soft socks...perfect for wearing this winter with Crocs.

The reason I started these is because I'm afraid I'm not going to have my Pomatomus finished this month for the SAM5.

This is the 1st Dishcloth for the Monthly Dishcloth KAL that I joined. It was lots of fun knitting 9 rows a day. But somehow I knitted Day 5 rows twice. Oh well, it wasn't hard to figure out where I messed up and rip back. It took me until Day 5 to figure out what it was. If your dishcloths are getting worn (like mine), I highly recommend joining this group on Yahoo or Ravelry.

Topi Hat & Slip Stitch Scarf

Even after blocking the ends of the scarf kept curling so I single crocheted around the edges with both colors. I think this helped give it more of a finished look but I still had to steam it to get it to stay flat. Any suggestions?

She wore her hat all day and that made me feel good...I started her a scarf to match. She is a knitter/crocheter with no time to enjoy it right now so shes aware of the time put into a project. This hat was so easy to make and didn't take much time at all. My son even asked if I'd make him a hat...so I will have to find something for him.

I'm sorry but I deleted several pictures of my daughter in her room...I just didn't feel comfortable having her face exposed to the world.

Did you all have a nice Christmas? We still have another Christmas gathering this coming Saturday and then my sons birthday is the 2nd.We went to midnight mass so we were opening gifts at 2 in the morning. I don't know how much my son and husband appreciated their clogs. My son asked if they were oven mitts when he first opened them. He was tired so I don't think he really appreciated anything. I will probably felt his clogs today plus my husbands were a little big so I'll throw those in too.

I finished my son's clogs and will post pictures once he opens them. The Topi hat is started and this pattern is excellent. If I had time to work on it today I could probably finish it to wrap for my daughter...she isn't expecting it so I'm not going to worry about it.

Son's Fiber Trends Felt Clog

One clog is almost finished...I added the bumper the correct way this time. Just need to sew up the seams. I need to get the second one started so that I can get these wrapped. I've decided to not felt them and see what kind of reaction I get from my son (almost 14 yo). I really, really enjoy making these clogs.

Next year for Christmas I will probably make them for my parents, in-law and step-in-laws, nieces and nephews...maybe even brothers and sisters...but thats only if I'm still having fun making them. I want to see how they wear and hold up first. I really need to get back to some other knitting/crocheting--afghan, scarf, socks, teddy bear.

My daughter (12 yo) wants a pink and orange hat. I showed her a several patterns on Ravelry and she picked the Topi. I bought Patons Canadiana in the Super Pink and Deep Orange and will probably stripe it.

I don't know when I will get to start on it...my husband wants me to help him downstairs. We are finishing our basement...drywall, taping, mudding, cleaning and mopping each night, then painting, carpet, etc. This is a large family room area that will mostly be used by the kids and their friends.

Finished the Fiber Trends Felt Clogs for my husband Saturday morning. I hurried to felt them so that I could run to the LYS before noon to buy more yarn...but first I wanted to make sure that I liked how Patons Classic Merino Wool felted.I love Patons Classic Merino Wool!! It felted in less than a full wash cycle and it looks great. I am thrilled with how the clogs turned out. So I bought more yarn to make my son a pair. I suggested to my LYS owner that she should make up a pair for the 2008 Christmas season because I think the pattern and yarn would sell since its under $25.00 for your 1st pair.

To make the men's medium size you need 1 full skein for the upper and over 1-1/2 skeins for the inner/outer sole and cuff. For the men's large size you would probably need 2 skeins for the upper and 2 for inner/outer sole and cuff.
